How the Downturn in the Housing Market is Impacting Latinos

This article from USA Today [1] spotlights the ripple effect of the imploding housing market on Latinos, whose unemployment rate is rising disproportionately compared to the rest of the U.S. population.  The foreclosure crisis is also having an impact on the number of Latino-owned small businesses, since many Latinos use their home equity to help them own businesses. It's an unforeseen--and troubling--indicator of the tough times ahead for a population that already has diminished avenues for opportunity.
