The Foundation for Child Development recently released their new analysis [1] reporting that there has been a 10% increase in children's well being from 1994-2006.  Reading scores are up for 9 year olds, mortality rates for 1-4 year olds are down, more pre-schoolers are vaccinated, fewer mothers are smoking during pregnancy and more parents are reading to their children.  The analysis includes 25 indicators such as these showing there has been indeed progress on various issues affecting children from birth until 10 years of age.  Although it is hard to determine the clear reasonings of why - it is hopeful news that programs are working.  The key is to keep progressing.  How can the government, parents and schools work together to ensure just this?
