Parents as Partners in Early Childhood Education

The impact of quality early childhood education on individual economic opportunity is by now well-documented. However, the importance of involving parents in early childhood education is also critical to encourage children's learning and socio-economic development. A team of students from the University of Virginia's Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy recently did the attached report and presentation for Hope Street Group on the strategies for involving parents in early childhood education, with a goal of expanding policy discussions to include the importance of home-based family involvement in the debate.
