Amanda Levinson

Amanda joined HSG in 2005 and lives in Silicon Valley.  As Director of Policy Programs, she oversees the organization's policy initiatives.
 
Amanda has worked in policy development, research, and non-profit management since 1998. She has published and spoken widely on immigration policy in both the United States and Europe, and has worked on environmental management and affordable housing policy on the U.S.-Mexico border.  Most recently, Amanda was a consultant for the Council of Europe on comparative immigrant legalization programs.  She has worked as a researcher for the Migration Policy Institute, Harvard and Oxford Universities and spent a year in Santiago, Chile interning for the International Organization for Migration.  In 2001, she co-founded and served as the first Executive Director of VOZ in Portland, Oregon, a nonprofit organization for low-income immigrant workers.
 
Amanda holds a Masters of Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin and a B.A. in American Studies from Reed College.
