Advocates for Young Adults

Advocates for Young Adults is a 501c3 organization that was developed to improve our communities by teaching young adults Fundamental Life Skills

Fundamental Life Skills are:

Civic Responsibility- voter registration, taxes and community resources

Professional Development - filling out applications, behavioral interviewing, employer benefits, and planning & organization

Personal Finance - banking, savings, insurance and credit

These skills are crucial to success as independent and positively contributing members of our society, are typically not offered in school curricula and are rarely taught at homes.

We take education of these skills to businesses, schools and other non-profit organizations who have young adults as part of their constituency.  Our website is www.advocates4youngadults.org.

Some stats we're trying to tackle:

  • Over $300 billion is lost annually in the US due to stress
  • Credit card debt in America is an estimated $2.16 trillion.
  • Over 2 million families filed for personal bankruptcy last year.
  • Approximately 90% of Americans have never received any financial training.
