Hoyt Hilsman, J.D. is a writer, critic and educator. An award-winning playwright, screenwriter and journalist, he has written widely produced stage plays, screenplays for New Line, Disney, Sony, ABC and CBS, among others, has been a regular contributor to a number of national publications and is the author of several non-fiction books on entertainment and new media. Hoyt has also been a media and story consultant to Vulcan Ventures, The Kennedy Space Center, The National Museum of Patriotism, Unocal, International Data Corporation, and many other companies. He has taught writing and communications at UCLA and Pepperdine, and is the founder of the Pasadena Writers Workshop. He is a past President of the L.A. Drama Critics Circle, a judge of the PEN West Literary Awards and he recently received a grant from the Skirball Institute on American Values for his work on intentional conversations.
