Thomas W. Christopher

New York Local Team Leader

Tom Christopher is a partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses on the corporate matters with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. Early in his career Tom served on the legislative staff of the late Senator Alan Cranston of California and also clerked for the late Judge Richard A. Gadbois, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He has been active in various political campaigns including most recently the Kerry/Edwards 2004 presidential campaign. Tom is a member of the Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Control Contests Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He is also active in civic affairs and serves on the Board of Directors of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, New York's leading anti-gun violence organization. Tom received a B.A. in political science (with distinction and departmental honors) from Stanford University and a J.D. from The Cornell Law School, where he served on an editor of the Cornell Law Review.
