Health Care
As the second biggest driver of economic opportunity in America, health care is an essential and central component of Hope Street Group's policy platform.
Join the discussion in the Policy 2.0 health care reform community.
Hope Street Group believes expanding access, increasing quality, and controlling cost are the most important steps to transforming the health care system. The President’s role in these three inter-linked areas includes working closely with Congress, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the health care industry to invest in quality health care and foster innovation by investing in health technology, promoting coordinated care, realigning payment incentives, and allowing faster generic drug introductions in order to bend the cost curve and provide quality care to all Americans.
Hope Street Group has shaped its health care policy agenda through the participation of a diverse group of leaders, a professional volunteer network, the facilitation and convening skills of our leadership, and relationships with reform practitioners.

The promise of being healthy, and also being able to see the best doctors in the world, either for preventative care or should illness arise, is an important part of our identity as a nation. America is rightfully proud of our medical community. We have outstanding physicians, superior medical schools, and top-notch research institutions and pharmaceutical companies that lead the world in innovation and medical technology. However, not every American can afford the promise of health care. Hope Street Group believes that every American should be able to have access to basic affordable, quality health care, and that American values of inclusion and innovation should be present in our health care system. The Economic Opportunity Index
