The Senate Appropriations Committee defeated an amendment to divert $100 million from State Grants for Improving Teacher Quality to the Teacher Incentive Fund.

 

The vote was bipartisan on both sides. The NEA is happy, Senator Landrieu (D-LA) is not.

 

The TIF will still increase from its current $97 million funding level to $300 million.
