Before his work in real estate, Block spent twelve years in the technology industry, most recently managing customer implementations for content database startup firm Mark Logic Corporation.

Sean Burton

Sean Burton is a senior Vice President at Pacific CityHome, a housing development concern in California. Previously, he was VP for Corporate Business Development and Strategy at Warner Bros. Before that, Sean ran the business development and strategic planning group for Warner Bros. Online, and was an attorney at O'Melveny & Myers, LLP. Sean also serves as an Officer (Intelligence) in the United States Naval Reserve.

Thomas W. Christopher

Tom Christopher is a partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses on the corporate matters with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. Early in his career Tom served on the legislative staff of the late Senator Alan Cranston of California and also clerked for the late Judge Richard A. Gadbois, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He has been active in various political campaigns including most recently the Kerry/Edwards 2004 presidential campaign.

Shannon Clark

Shannon Clark is an experienced developer and consultant, with extensive configuration management and Internet experience. His research has led to innovative applications of Information Extraction techniques employing Artificial Intelligence. He has developed and implemented best practices for Configuration Management and build/release management. His clients have included such firms as CapitalOne, UBS Warburg Dillon Reed, IBM, other Fortune 500 companies, large government agencies, and many others.

Gabe Cohen

Gabe Cohen is a communications consultant and public opinion researcher for The Kenney Group in Denver, Colorado. Most recently, Gabe was field director for Preschool Matters, which will expand access to preschool for Denver 4-year olds. He also managed survey research for several Colorado campaigns during the most recent election cycle. Prior to moving back to his place of birth in Denver, Gabe worked for The Mellman Group--a DC based polling firm that conducted public opinion research for the Kerry/Edwards campaign.

Andrew Corradini

Andrew Corradini is a Silicon Valley marketing executive and consultant with 15+ years experience & expertise in security, telecom, and data networking. Most recently he has helped a novel security startup secure funding offers from two top-tier venture capital firms, served as an expert witness and consultant on security for a major international law firm, and taken some time off to be a stay-at-home dad.

Michelle H. Gonzalez

Michelle Gonzalez is an attorney for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios in the Entertainment Legal Department. Michelle is MGM's business planning representative to the Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI), a joint venture among the seven major studios charged with the task of developing technical specifications for digital cinema. Prior to joining MGM, Michelle was an associate at McKinsey & Co. in their Los Angeles office. Michelle has been also active in local nonprofit and Republican causes.

Loren Griffith

Loren Griffith is currently pursuing degrees in public policy from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and law from Stanford University. Previously, Loren worked at McKinsey & Company in their Los Angeles office. Loren has authored a short article published in the Journal of the Center for California Studies, entitled, "The Perfect Storm: What Went Wrong in the California Electricity Market." While in college, Loren worked for the Medley Investment Group, assisting in the development of an online financial news analysis service.

Ben Grizzle

Ben Grizzle works on Goldman Sachs' foreign currency sales desk, where he develops and executes funding, hedging, and trading strategies for US hedge funds, banks, and broker/dealers. He is also on the board of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship - New York City, and the board of Amistad Mission, a Bolivian orphanage and public health outreach, for which he serves as chairman of the strategic planning committee. Ben graduated magna cum laude from Harvard with a BA in American History and Literature.

Heather Grizzle

Heather Grizzle is a partner at the American Strategy Group. At ASG, she has crafted philanthropy programs and strategic communications for clients such as the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute, former Governor Christine Todd Whitman, and a major pharmaceutical benefit company. Grizzle joined ASG upon conclusion of her service as Policy Director and Press Secretary for the Forrester for Governor campaign in New Jersey.

Hoyt Hilsman

Hoyt Hilsman, J.D. is a writer, critic and educator. An award-winning playwright, screenwriter and journalist, he has written widely produced stage plays, screenplays for New Line, Disney, Sony, ABC and CBS, among others, has been a regular contributor to a number of national publications and is the author of several non-fiction books on entertainment and new media. Hoyt has also been a media and story consultant to Vulcan Ventures, The Kennedy Space Center, The National Museum of Patriotism, Unocal, International Data Corporation, and many other companies.

Kevin Hively

Kevin Hively is the President of Ninigret Partners. Ninigret Partners' focus is on helping businesses, economic development groups, and non profit organizations understand the dynamics of their marketplace and position themselves to succeed in a rapidly changing economy. Prior to forming Ninigret Partners he worked at Telesis, the strategy consulting arm of Towers Perrin. Kevin was a member of the firm's global leadership management group and responsible for the firm's health care and life sciences industry practice.

Melora Krebs-Carter

Melora Krebs-Carter is currently a consultant in the Middle East office of McKinsey & Company, where she focused on health care systems. Prior to McKinsey, Melora ran the utilization and care management department at MetroPlus Health Plan, a managed care organization sponsored by the New York City public hospital system. In addition to her systems work, Melora has worked as a consultant to insurance companies, hospitals, clinics, and private practices.

Nima Niakan

Nima Niakan has a passion for technology and its application into physical design and environmental, social, and economical sustainability. Nima has two years of experience as an Urban Designer, focused on sustainability, working on many projects in Northern California. Since 2001 he has been a Business Architect working on global corporate and customers solutions in the Technology, Pharmaceuticals and Financial Industry. Nima has played an active role in numerous local grassroots organizations and is involved in the HSG Tax Policy Team.

Julia Novak

Julia Novak has over ten years experience in the financial services industry, most recently serving as an Associate Director at Scotia Capital. While at Scotia Capital she was a member of the corporate relationship team which managed a portfolio of Fortune 1000 and large private companies. Prior to joining Scotia Capital, she held various positions including that of small business lender where she obtained expertise in specialized lending products and programs offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Zeb Rice

Zeb Rice is a partner at Angeleno Group, a private equity group focused on energy companies and technologies. Previously, Zeb founded the primary technology subsidiary and managed venture investing for News Corporation in Australasia. At News Corp., Zeb originated, deployed and/or managed News Corp's capital at a Board or General Manager level. Jonathan Scott

Jonathan Scott, J.D. is the Southern California Marketing Manager for West Group legal information solutions provider. He is pursuing a Masters in Business Administration at Pepperdine University, and consults on a part-time basis for a variety of companies in Dubai, Ethiopia, and Angola. Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Jonathan worked for Thomson-West's business information systems department. Before joining Thomson-West, he worked on a consultant basis as an attorney for the European offices of Medtronic and Honeywell Military Avionics.

Michael Signer

Michael Signer is Deputy Counselor to Governor Mark Warner in Richmond, Virginia. For the 2004 presidential campaign, Mike was the Democratic National Committee's voter assistance director in Virginia. He served on the staffs of Mark Warner's campaigns for U.S. Senate and Governor in Virginia, and later was a Legal Fellow for two years in the Office of the Governor. He worked in the Little Rock headquarters of the Wesley Clark for President Campaign before returning to Virginia to serve as the campaign's State Director.

Alpay Soyoguz

Alpay Soyoguz is a vice president and partner of Callan Associates, Inc., a privately held investment consulting firm in San Francisco. His primary work involves consulting on over $900 billion in pension assets, in addition to managing Callan's database and development group. Alpay is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Association of Investment Management Research (AIMR) and the AIMR Education Foundation; he is also a member of the San Francisco Security Analysts Association.

Hadi Tabbaa

Hadi Tabbaa is currently pursuing his JD at Stanford Law School. Previously, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company's Dallas office and a member of Capital One Financial's corporate strategic planning group in McLean, VA. He studied economics and political science at Rice University in Houston, where he researched global energy markets at the Baker Institute for Public Policy.

Michael Webber

Michael Webber is an incoming faculty member with the Mechanical Engineering Department and Associate Director of the Center for International Energy and Environmental Policy at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining UT-Austin, Michael lead research projects for policy issues relevant to energy, the environment, innovation, the U.S. industrial base, and national security at the RAND Corporation.
